2019-2020 First Grade Standards and Objectives: School Year Narrative
English Language Arts: Standards and objectives will be taught throughout weekly lessons and objectives will be set forth by the Journeys’ curriculum. Supplemental materials, enrichment and intervention will be provided with a Response to Intervention program set forth by Title 1 services. Additional tiered instruction will take place in a small group setting. Students’ educational growth will be monitored bi-weekly using HMH Journeys progress monitoring and at the end of each unit using the HMH Journeys Benchmark Assessment. A detailed weekly plan, including CCSS, can be found within the lesson plans published on my website. A curriculum pacing guide can also be found above.
Mathematics: Standards and objectives will be taught throughout daily lessons using the Go Math program. Differentiation will be achieved through small group instruction and Go Math; Personal Math Trainer and Individualized Student Edition (iPads). These individualized lessons will ensure all learning styles are being taught to the level of mastery. Student growth will be monitored utilizing PMT and ISE scores, as well as HMH Go Math Mid-Chapter Checkpoint & Chapter Tests. Lessons and connecting standards can be viewed within the lesson plans on my website. A curriculum pacing guide can also be found on my web page. Science: Standards and objectives will be taught following the Science Fusion Curriculum. Kindergarten Science concepts and standards are also embedded throughout the HMH Journeys curriculum. All levels of learners will be reached using the following; interactive activities, hands on learning, and concepts embedded within the reading curriculum. Students level of mastery will be assessed following each lesson, using the lesson check and at the end of each unit using the Unit Assessment. Lessons and connecting standards can be viewed within the lesson plans on my website. A curriculum pacing guide can be found on my web page.
